When automakers shifted toward capacitive-touch controls for essential vehicle functions in the mid-2010s, I wanted to retrofit the physical-button HVAC control panel from a 2016+ Ford Explorer into my 2013 model. What initially seemed like a simple retrofit became a challenging engineering project, requiring the reverse engineering of two CAN bus architectures and the development of a custom bidirectional translation system to seamlessly bridge the two.
After a near-sinking exposed that the two-piece fiberglass hull was separating at its seams, I completely disassembled the boat to repair the underlying structure. By reinforcing the fiberglass, resealing the hull, and carefully reassembling it, I restored the sailboat to a safe, watertight condition for many more seasons on the water.
Founded and led a game studio with global virtual teams. Published four indie titles reaching 50,000+ players and featured in 200+ online publications. Also coached dozens of developers in 3D, animation, and storytelling.
