About Me

Engineer by trade, tinkerer by nature. Whether it's software, a car, a boat, or a house. If something can be taken apart, understood, and put back together better, I'm interested.

Background

It started with games. I spent my teens building indie games, learning 3D modeling, animation, coding, and rendering out of pure curiosity. FishfaceGames grew into a small indie studio, four published titles, and 50,000 players. But more than the games themselves, I loved the craft of building something from nothing and shipping it.

Then I bought a broken 1994 Honda Del Sol Si.

Restoring it opened a new world. I became obsessed with how cars are designed, engineered, and assembled, and realized the skills I had from game development mapped directly onto automotive work. 3D modeling became CAD. Rendering became HMI visualization and product rendering. Scripted game logic became embedded systems and CAN Bus. The transition felt natural.

That path took me through Honda Research Institute, Brandmotion, and now Ford Motor Company, always at the intersection of software, hardware, and the human experience inside a vehicle.

Outside of Work

Sailing

I sail a 14-foot vintage sailboat, another ongoing project that keeps me learning new hands-on skills such as fiberglass. I started sailing at a young age with my Grandfather so it's very nostalgic to me.

Cars and the Garage

The Del Sol started it, but the obession continued. Diagnosing, fixing, modifying, and of course driving cars is how I unwind and how I stay sharp on hands on tasks.

House Projects

Renovation, fabrication, anything that involves figuring out how something is made and making it better. The same instincts that drive my engineering work shows up here too.

Design and 3D Printing

Modeling and printing parts for projects around the house, the boat, and the car. The gap between an idea and a physical object is shorter than it has ever been, and I use that constantly.

Running

Currently training for a half marathon that I run every year. Running gives me a break from screens and another reason to be outside. It also fuels my competitive side.
